Customs clearance for different types of transport

Ships, boats and aircraft arriving from abroad, or carrying undeclared goods, must notify the customs authorities by phone at least 24 hours before entering Faroese customs territory, i.e. 12 nautical miles from land. Additionally, customs documents must be submitted to the customs authorities via e-mail or fax.

Customs documents to complete and submit

Ships and boats are always required to submit a list of dutiable goods (T26), a crew list (T27) and a customs declaration (T28). Find the documents under quick links.

Aircraft should submit a customs declaration for aircraft (T30).

In addition to these documents, vessels are required to submit:

  • Cargo manifests
  • Passenger lists
  • Invoices for goods purchased abroad
  • Customs declaration from the last port
  • Maritime Declaration of Health
  • Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate
