Customs regulations for arrivals to the Faroe Islands

Vessels and aircraft arriving from abroad must call Faroese Customs (TAKS) at least 24 hours before crossing the 12‑nautical‑mile boundary, or within one hour of leaving the last foreign port. Required documents must be submitted via email prior to arrival.

These rules apply in all cases — private, commercial, regulated or one-off.

In addition, vessels must also provide

  • Cargo manifests
  • Passenger lists
  • Invoices for goods purchased abroad
  • Customs declaration from the last port
  • Maritime declaration of health
  • Ship sanitation control exemption certificate
